Life here

Days that feel like yours

Life at Ty Derwen moves at the pace of the people who live here — a chat in the garden, a favourite TV programme, a slow Sunday breakfast, a visit from family.

Questions families ask

What families often ask us

Can families visit any time?

Yes — we welcome visits from family and friends. Please let us know if you're popping in for the first time so we can give you a warm welcome.

Can residents bring their own things?

Absolutely. Personal photos, favourite chairs, throws and small furniture all help a room feel like home.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement — many residents find a familiar four-legged visitor a real comfort.

What happens about meals and dietary needs?

Meals are home-cooked and we cater for medical, religious and personal preferences. Residents are involved in planning the menu.

How do you support residents to stay active?

From gentle exercise and gardening to music, crafts and minibus outings — we tailor activities to interests and ability.

What about healthcare appointments?

We work closely with GPs, district nurses and other professionals, and arrange transport when needed.
